The seventh version of ‘MyMessageCloud’ contains a number of brand new features and refreshed functionality that will benefit clients and allows us to build even greater new tools in future.
Here is a list of the top features in our new Dashboard:
1. Profiles & Organisations. For the first time, Dashboard allows a client to create a profile under which they can add as many organisations as they wish. This means that a single business or individual can control multiple organisations from the same login credentials. An organisation could be a company, brand, department, marketing campaign or a sub-client. And under each organisation, multiple MessageCloud products, accounts and campaigns can be added. Want an organisation containing 5 bulk accounts? Go for it. Today, we refer to ‘clients’. Under Dashboard, we will refer to Profile Users (or Users, for short) for individuals and Organisations for the entities that contract with us for services.
2. Account Grouping. Although all existing clients will be required to create a new profile and at least one organisation, they will be rewarded with many new features. To help existing clients, we have a brand new feature that allows them to group multiple legacy accounts (LTAs) under a single organisation. A number of major clients currently have multiple LTAs, each with a seperate log in. When they create a MessageCloud profile and organisation, they can request us to ‘grandfather’ in their existing LTAs: either all LTAs under a single organisation, or one LTA per organisation or a mix.
3. Secure Registration. Users can now add two-factor authentication to their profiles to make it more secure. They receive a unique code by SMS that they can plug into MyMessageCloud to help confirm their identities. We’ve rewritten our registration system from scratch, which also means we are moving even further away from our legacy platform. It provides our Dashboard with even more independence from old systems.
4. Products. Again, for the first time, we have completely unified the names, icons and descriptors for all our MessageCloud products. From the marketing website to Dashboard and in our documentation and downloadables, we have a consistent suite of services. Gone are the days when a product may have multiple names. We also have a new Products API, which allows us to keep track of precisely which products each organisation owns, so we can give users a much more tailored experience. We can present help information, create upselling opportunities, and put active products front-and-centre.
5. Activation. For the first time, users will be able to activate certain products instantly when they sign up to our Dashboard. We begin with Wholesale SMS accounts (SMSC) and we will be rolling out self-service to all our products over time. If a product cannot be activated on-the-fly, then it’s just as easy to request activation from the individual product panes, which will email business development to get in touch. On the Products page, the user will clearly see their activated products, pending products, and available (unused) products.
6. Navigation & UI. We’ve completely re-thought how users can move around our main control panel and how the User Interface (UI) design can best support clients today and give us room for evolution in the weeks ahead. There are now 4 main sections: Products, Revenue, Activity and Integrate. Breadcrumbs on each page show the user where they are in relation to other pages within a section, and a useful sidebar provides additional navigation options. For users with multiple LTAs or many other products and campaigns, it’s now really easy to see a bird’s-eye overview of the user’s entire MessageCloud life, allowing them to navigate quickly to just the things they are interested in. Obviously Dashboard is now branded for the MessageCloud era and follows the Material design philosophy that you may be familiar with in using Google products. This provides us with a consistent, fresh, professional look and feel.
7. Wholesale SMS. Users can now create Wholesale SMS (SMSC) accounts directly from within MyMessageCloud, find statistics at their fingertips without needing to visit the SMSC separately, and those statistics can be viewed on a per-campaign basis or aggregated across all their campaigns. This provides just a taster for what is to come when we launch our brand new messaging tools at the end of the year.
8. Bulk Tools & Credits. Dashboard brings tools like Bulk Push and Auto Response, as well as bulk credit balances. These tools from our old Control Panel (CP5), which means that we can finally shut down the old Control Panel and provide a single place for all MessageCloud functionality.
9. Clustered. As we accelerate improvements to our platform and our internal processes, we are drawing clearer lines between old systems and the new. We are hosting our new Dashboard on brand new server infrastructure that is load-balanced across a cluster of servers to maximise availability and reliability. Dashboard also heavily reduces reliance on our old systems. This version marks an important milestone.
10. Future. Some of Dashboard’s greatest features are not visible. All our software has been optimised so that pages and data load faster and everything is more responsive and accurate. But it’s the products and features of the future that really excites us, and we have built in MyMessageCloud a great home for innovation. We have already tabled new features like multi-user accounts, invoicing and payments, and new marketing and statistics features.
